Stephanie Miskew is an award-winning Sommelier, Wine Educator, Public Speaker, Consultant, Fox News Contributor and author of The Glamorous Gourmet, a blog dedicated to food, wine, travel, and entertaining. Stephanie is also the Host of The Wine Atelier podcast which features real world advice on mastering wine, answers to listener’s burning wine questions and interviews with leading wine and food professionals.
The Glamorous Gourmet debuted in February 2011 as the reincarnation of Stephanie Savors the Moment, a blog which chronicled Stephanie’s year-long journey cooking her way, a la “Julie & Julia,” through the Junior League of Boca Raton’s James Beard award-winning Cookbook, Savor the Moment. The project was to commemorate the book’s 10th Anniversary and in the process, a new career was born.
Stephanie has written wine reviews, educational content, and wine event coverage for esteemed websites and publications including wine guru Gary Vaynerchuk’s website Cork’d; the Palm Beach Post’s Food and Dining section; the Broward-Palm Beach New Times’ “Clean Plate Charlie” blog, The Preiser Key to Napa, and the Junior League of Boca Raton’s quarterly magazine, The Bridge. Stephanie’s wine selections, food and wine pairing recommendations, and music playlists have been featured in publications including the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Palm Beach Post, Delray Beach Magazine, the Coastal Star, and Boca Raton Magazine.
In addition to writing, Stephanie is also a highly sought after public speaker who conducts engaging wine tastings and educational seminars. In 2010 she founded the uber popular and constantly sold out monthly series, “The Art of Wine & Food,” at The Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale. She also created “The Art of Wine,” for The Boca Raton Museum of Art in 2013. Stephanie also presents at prominent local charitable events including The Boca Raton Historical Society’s “Boca Bacchanal” (2012 General Co-Chair and 2013 Honorary Co-Chair), The Spirit of Giving Network’s “Women, Wine & Handbags,” the Delray Beach Public Library’s “Wine & Literature,” The Delray Beach Historical Society’s “Winter Harvest,” and “Petrossian’s Caviar 2.0” for Hospice of Palm Beach County.
Collaborating with other food and wine personalities is also one of Stephanie’s fortes. She has partnered with world-renowned food and wine industry favorites including Andrea Immer Robinson, Lyn Farmer, Laurent Drouhin and many more. In 2013, her collaboration with Top Chef Finalist Lindsay Autry on the “Savor the Summer at Sundy House” wine & food series which won the Palm Beach Post’s award for Best Foodie Event of the Year!
Stephanie has also served as a Judge for the prestigious American Fine Wine Competition; Hospice of Palm Beach County’s “Country Club Chef Showdown” featuring Head Judge Chef Norman Van Aken; the Junior League of Boca Raton’s “Taste of Boca,” and the local Summer favorite, “The Boca Burger Battle.”
Stephanie’s vinous credentials include: Certified Sommelier with The Court of Master Sommeliers; Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) with The Society of Wine Educators; Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Advanced Certificate; and Wine Location Specialist for CIVC (Champagne) and IVDP (Port) with The Center for Wine Origins.
Stephanie also received her B.A. degree in Art History from Rollins College and an M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She currently resides in Delray Beach, Florida with her husband Steve and miniature dachshunds Louis and Coco. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and, of course, drinking wine with family and friends.
